All DSO Cooled Cameras need to be connected to an external 11-14v power supply to image.

ATR585M camera incorporates the advanced SONY IMX585 sensor, renowned for its exceptional imaging capabilities for both planetary and deep-sky objects. Engineered with an integrated heat dissipation structure and an efficient cooling module, it enables the image sensor to function at a temperature 45℃ lower than the ambient environment. With features including zero amp-glow, a minuscule pixel size, and a high dynamic range (HDR) mode. This camera is ideal for entry-level deep space photography, offering outstanding performance at a remarkably cost-effective price point.

ATR585M

Please remember: all ToupTek Astro DSO cooled cameras can only be powered by 12V3A DC power supply. We recommend using the power adapter that comes with the camera or a lithium-ion battery with stable output of 11-14V. Please do not use power supplies that have falsely stated specifications or unstable outputs to power the camera, as this may affect image capture or even damage the camera.

ATR585M

STARVIS 2

STARVIS refers to the backlight image sensor technology developed by Sony to improve low light characteristics and near-infrared sensitivity. STARVIS 2 improves dynamic range and near-infrared sensitivity compared to STARVIS1. Benefiting from it, ATR585M shows better performance.

Sensor Infor

ATR585M is a 1/1.2-inch optical format, 8.3-megapixel CMOS image sensor with a pixel size of 2.9um. lt offers high clarity and low-noise performance.

ATR585M

DDR3

ATR585M camera has a 512MB (4Gb) ultra-fast memory buffer to ensure stable image transmission.

ATR585M

Two stage TEC cooling system

ATR585M is designed with an integrated heat dissipation structure and an efficient cooling module. The cooling system of ATR585M features a two-stage Thermoelectric Cooling (TEC) with controllable electric fan assisting in heat dissipation. This allows the image sensor to operate at temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius lower than the ambient temperature. The exposure time can be set for up to 1 hour, ensuring that every minute detail is captured. Even in summer, it can still run stably all night with cooling temperatures ranging from of -5°C to -10°C.

ATR585M

Zero Amp-Glow

ATR585M has been carefully designed and is able to achieve zero amp-glow photo shooting. This not only greatly reduces the generation of internal glow, but also effectively suppresses the interference of external light. It also enhances the stability and durability of the camera, which means you'll be able to capture sharper, cleaner images in both long and high exposure modes.

ATR585M

Anti-dew technology

ATR585M adopts the new anti-dew technology , which can effectively solve the condensation problem through heating.

This heating function consumes about 5 watts, which can be turned off via software to save power.

Additionally, The dew heater at the protection window has 4 adjustable levels, allowing users to find the heating power that best suits their needs.

ATR585M Review

The camera and filters work very well even on my F/4 system. I have tried out all of the filters except SIII and OIII, LRGB and HA are great, HA transmission is good and does the job well. Nothing to comment on the LRGB filters, they are great. Camera itself is fantastic, keeps itself well settled on the specified temperature. It would be awesome to make the filter wheel use the 8th slot for a filter like infrared to take advantage of 585s infrared sensitivity. Overall the product is awesome and i do not regret purchasing it.

Very good value, best entry to the mono deep-sky astrophotography

ATR585M is my first cooled mono camera. It has a good build quality and comes with a useful set of adaptor rings. Unfortunately I had only partially clear skies yet, but managed to do some tests and very pleased so far. Cooling is the fastest I have seen. Noise levels are low and has uniform distribution even at high gain settings, no patterns or banding at all. The sensitivity is exceptional, obviously higher than one shot color versions. The pixel size is a good compromise and paired with the high frame rate available I do think this camera is great for solar system imaging as well. Please note that due to the high IR sensitivity of the sensor even above 1000nm, You will need to choose filters really carefully.

Excellent weather control device

Ever since I received the camera, I’ve had nothing but rain and overcast skies. Would recommend 100% for anyone experiencing severe drought. Once the “adverse weathernator controller” runs out of power, I’ll revisit this review.

Impressed 585M

So far I am very impressed with the performance of the 585m and the 7nm filters and filter wheel. Drivers are a little tricky to update on a Mac system though. Cooling functions very well. Haven’t tried the HDR function yet. Definitely recommend this camera and filter wheel combination. Works well with Kstars Ekos on my MacBook through my Stellarmate pro.

Do not buy the bundle until they fix the filter wheel

Just as the title states, do not buy the bundle until they fix the issues with the filter wheel. I would love to review just the camera, but given that I can do very little with it until they fix the filter wheel, I can't do that yet
From my review of the filter wheel:
Unfortunately, I can't recommend this filter wheel, and I'm not sure I can recommend ToupTek either. After purchasing the ATR585M bundle that included the AFW-M 8x1.25", I quickly realized there was something causing internal light contamination. I was able to isolate the issue to the filter wheel. I tried the firmware update that reportedly fixes this issue, but it made no difference, as any slot other than slot 1 still showed the internal light contamination. After reaching out to ToupTek about the issue, they first said that the firmware update fixes the issue (even though I also stated that I had already run the firmware updater and it made no difference), then tried to blame me for not properly addressing external light leaks (even though I specified in the message I had already accounted for that). In a thread on Cloudy Nights discussing the issue, it was discovered that several others had the same problem, with a few of them reaching out to ToupTek as well and receiving similar responses. ToupTek claimed they were unable to reproduce the problem, but then in another message said that they were aware of the issue with the AFW LEDs only turning off in position 1, but that fixing it wasn't a priority (and implied that bug fixes on the StellaVita were the priority). This, to me, is an unacceptable response, as the filter wheel is unusable unless I want to only shoot with the filter in position 1, or if I unplug the wheel after every filter change. There's also the occasional bug where the filter wheel doesn't show the position when you first connect it, or when you try to switch filters it just spins endlessly. All in all, very unimpressed by the software/firmware implementation for this filter wheel, and very, very unimpressed by ToupTek's response to their faulty hardware.
